Resume Writing : Explanation of Strengths

1- TEAM PLAYER

We all write strengths in our resume. These strengths are mostly the ideal qualities that an interviewer generally looks for. Example : Team player,Optimistic attitude, good confidence level, etc. However many of the times an interviewer may cross question to check whether or not are these your strengths really or are you just boasting off.
For facing all these kind of a situations one must have a good emotional build up of the background of the strength. Here is one such build up. Read the explanation of the strength ” Team Player” and try to feel that the man in the example was you :
Team Player :
I have always been a part of one or more teams and I enjoy working as a part of a team. I was a member of junior basketball team for 1 year. I was also a part of my school’s cricket team for a period of 5 years. I was the second down batsman in the team. As a team we practiced, performed in field and partied. I would not say that there were never any conflicts in the team but then if any conflicts occurred we resolved them by working them out with mutual understanding and co operation.
Our team had unity and mutual understanding and that was its biggest strength. Once when I was in class 11 th two of our bowlers had a conflict and both of them said that they would not play if the other person plays. Both of them were very important players. I tried to convince them a lot but they wont agree , I jested, cracked jokes and made the environment of the team a little bit lighter than before.
Then I recollected one incident when both of those players had met with an accident. They both were going together by a bycycle and got struck by a speeding bike. Each one of them had an injury. One in his left leg and the other in his right leg. We used to call them “langda brothers” then. I made them remember that incident and the team laughed, they also were not able to stop themselves from smiling and after some time they talked and the conflict between them was resolved. We played the next match against a school and won the match.
We have also made a team for studying for exams . We divide the lessons or topics amongst the team members. Then we go for individual study of the topics assigned to us.
Everyone acts as the owner of of the topic assigned to him and teaches that topic to others. If someone faces a problem in understanding a topic then we all try to understand it together by discussing and brainstorming. Then we study the topics individually This approach of ours has enabled us to study even the most complex subjects very easily and its only reason is our team effort. We are also able to complete the topics in the decided time period.
It has also facilitated us with :
1) Better performance in exams.
2) Better understanding through discussions and Brainstorming
3) Reduced individual effort.
4) Reduced time.
5) Ability to finish within decided time line.
6) Difficult topics learnt easily
7) Increased individual efficiency.
I have this habit of cracking jokes or doing funny stuffs at the ground while playing cricket. My team members always appreciate this attribute of mine and they say that I keep everyone’s mood light and help reduce any kind of pressure build up. As a team we all respected each other’s opinions and tried to give everyone a chance. In case of mistakes we tried to motivate members for the next time instead of playing the blame game. Our team had unity and we always accepted each other and tried to learn from each other. It was because of all these attributes that our team was considered to be a very strong cricket team and other teams were envious of us.
